Welcome to Our Community of The Three Churches

Hello and welcome.

The 3 churches of St John the Baptist Bretherton, St Michael & All Angels Croston and St Peter Mawdesley have come together as a single community.

Reverend Michael Woods, has just celebrated his first year as Rector of the United Benifice of Croston, Bretherton & Mawdesley with Bispham.
He is a local person who started his working life at Leyland Motors, living in Leyland & Longton before hetrained at Ripon College, Cuddesdon in Oxfordshire. He then served his curacy at St Aiden’s Bamber Bridge before moving to Rishton where he has been the rector for the last nine years.
Reverend Janet Taylor will continue to serve as a self-supporting Associate Priest in the three parishes, working alongside Reverend Michael building up a ministry team.
Reverend Michael is looking forward to meeting the people from the local communities & visiting the schools.
His Licencing & Instillation is due to take place on Thursday 19th November.
We will confirm the final arrangements in due course and we are sure that all in the 3 parishes will want to join Dignitaries, Family, Friends, Clergy & Readers at the service & offer him a warm welcome as he takes up this new challenge.
We also look forward to welcoming members of the congregation from St Peter & Paul, Rishton.
There will be refreshments in the Old School next to the church after the service.
Thanks to all those who were involved in the selection process in any way.
