Remembrance Day November 11th 2018
Morning service 10am at St John the Baptist Church followed by the walk to the War Memorial
for the Service of Remembrance and Dedication.
In particular we remember the 12 young men from the village that were amongst the fallen.
Additionally in the evening a torchlight procession will start from homes around the village from about 6.30pm to arrive at the war
memorial for 6.50pm
A searchlight will be lit at 7pm to coincide with others to be lit throughout the country and church bells rung to celebrate the
end of WW1
At 7.15pm there will be a gathering in the Congregational School Room with a performance of ‘Searching for Matthew’
and a sing a long of favourite war time songs.
Tea, coffee and cake after.
