Celebrating 50 Years Ministry

On Sunday 23rd August we celebrated John Raynor’s 50 years of Christian ministry.

In July 1965 John was commissioned in the Church Army and when he moved to Lancashire was licensed as a Reader in the Church of England. Though John became Reader Emeritus last year both he & Josie remain an active part of our ministry in the village.
The congregation joined Bishop Julian in celebrating the event during our morning service and Bishop Julian consecrated our new Chalice which John & Josie had given us to commemorate such a memorable event both in their lives and in the life of the church.
