
Coffee Day – July 2nd 2016 – Arrangements
The village will be closed to all traffic between 1.45 P.M. And 4.00 P.M. approximately.
The day will begin with a short service in St Michael and all Angels Church at 1.30 P.M.
The Procession of Witness will leave Church Street / Town Road at 2.10 P.M. and end at Croston Park at approximately 3.40 P.M.
The procession will proceed along Town Road and Station Road to the Railway Station returning along Station Road, Westhead Road to Riverside Crescent, where a short break will be held, during which the children will be provided with refreshments. The procession will then return along Westhead Road and Town Road and end with the bands playing to the residents of Croston Park.
Eccleston and the Croston Scout Band will again be supporting the procession.
There will be two decorated lorries’ for small children to ride on. These will be parked near the War Memorial from 1.50 P.M. Please note for safety reasons, children will only be allowed to get on and off the lorries’ when they are stationery and parents are requested to contact a lorry steward before placing or removing a child from a lorry.
After the procession a number of stalls and events will be held in the Church grounds, these will include an ice cream stall, the award winning Choc Amor from Tarleton, various children’s amusement stalls along with tombola and the annual raffle. Finally refreshments will be available from 4.00 P.M. in the Old School.
The Eccleston Band will play from 4.30 P.M. until 5.30 P.M.
The day will end with the grand raffle at 5.30 P.M. approximately.
Entry to the Church grounds will again be by donation and as each year the costs involved with running Coffee Day increases and as the “Churches Together” Coffee Day Committee fund the day from your donations and fund raising activities during the year your continued support will again be greatly appreciated.
We would ask villagers who live on the route of the procession, if they would help on the day by moving their cars / vans etc. To enable the procession to move through the village without causing any problems . We appreciate that this is not easy but would be grateful for your co-operation.
The “Churches Together” Coffee Day Committee would like to wish everyone a most enjoyable and memorable Coffee Day.
Finally in the event of rain the majority of the activities will be held in Church.
