Each of our churches looked beautiful as they were filled with the many gifts of food, flowers and potted plants donated by members of our communities.
The dried and tinned food was donated to the Food Bank, all the fresh produce was taken to St Lawrence Church, Chorley as they are part of the group of churches offering meals to the homeless. The flowers were taken to people in our villages.
In the evening the Mothers Union in Mawdesley invited people to a Harvest Evensong with food and refreshments afterwards, it was a truly memorable night with adults and children from the village leading us in worship as we celebrated the wonderful gifts God give us in our daily lives. The collection of £137 was donated to the Christian Aid Society in support of their work around the world.
We would like to give a big thank you to everyone involved in the preparation, during the service and serving the refreshments afterwards without all your hard work and support the evening wouldn’t have been the success if was.
