A truly great day with all ages joining together to enjoy the lovely weather as we celebrated and walk together from Croston to Mawdesley as a celebration of the 3 parishes in our United Benefice.

As you can see from the photo’s there was lots of chatting as we walked along the country roads and along farm tracks and through woodland.

Though only the Reverend Michael was brave enough to wear shorts!

Very little of the walk was on road so we could spread out and enjoy each others company without having to worry about traffic.
The dogs also had fun running free as all the farm land was either arable or grass land and the dogs were very well behaved and remained on the paths at all times.

When we ended our walk at St Peter’s Church in Mawdesley we were greeted by members of the congregation who had prepared a wonderful array of cakes and drinks.

Reverend Michael thanked everyone who had organised the walk and checked the route to make sure it was suitable for everyone.
To everyone who had joined the walk and made it such a success and especially to everyone who had worked hard baking cakes and preparing the drinks.
Reverend Michael said a prayer of thanks for the event and we joined together in saying the Grace.

While some of us had organised transport back quite a large number of intrepid walkers set of to retrace their steps and walk all the way home again.

Everyone is keen to repeat the experience so the organisers are off to explore more walks, this time towards Bretherton so keep an eye of the website for news of the date of the next walk.
