Father Christmas paid an early visit to Mawdesley

for this years Christmas Fair which was another fantastic event well supported by families from the village.

Mr & Mrs Stanley Hazlewood officially opened the event before the children from St Peters School reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas with their songs.

We would like to thank Mr Ballard, the teachers and children for all their hard worked hard teaching and learning the songs.

Our next visitor was Father Christmas who had flown in especially for our fair so the children could put in their requests for presents.

As you can see from the crowd waiting at the door of the grotto to see him he remains the person everyone wants to see.

There were even more stalls with lots of crafts, cakes books, cards gifts, children’s games and the ladies in the kitchen provided bacon buns, soup and cakes to make sure no one was left hungry.

The fair couldn’t be a success without all the hard work of the volunteers who prepare everything and look after the stalls and kitchen, the school who attend so many events in the village at this time of year and most of all the people who come and support us.
