With the church closed for restoration work our service took place outside in the glorious sun
This year we had to learn a new song with the help of the children sing it in school, thankfully they were in good voice and with their help everyone were able to join in the singing.
We were pleased to welcome Father Augustine who is visiting St. Agnes Church in Eccleston for a few weeks. Father Augustine is currently studying in Rome for 3 years before returning to his parish in Thailand.
Having Father Augustine with us reminds us that we are not only united in faith in our local community but also united in faith with Christians throughout the world.
We would like to thank Mike Gunning for bringing Father Augustine to join us for the afternoon, and everyone who has worked over the months preparing for the event, decorating the wagons and manning the road closures, without all their hard work we couldn’t continue to hold this annual event.
The day was a great success with music provided by Eccleston Brass Band, Croston Band and the Scout Band. Everyone in the village seems to have turned out with many joining the walk while others joined visitors to the village who lined the streets to watch.
