There are now boxes in each of our churches for the youth group collection for Chorley & District Support for Ukraine. If you missed the announcement in church last week please read the youth group notice below:
‘We are Abigail and Noah from our church youth group, and as a group we have been talking about how we can make a difference together. After discussing different ideas, we have chosen to support Chorley and District support for Ukraine, a charity that is working hard to help people affected by the war in Ukraine. As a youth group, we feel it is important to show kindness and compassion in practical ways. So we will be placing a variety of donation boxes in all three of our churches. There will be boxes for candles-including ends to make new candles for soldiers-as well as small toys, pens, pencils, and crayons (new or used, as long as in good condition.) We will also have a box for boiled sweets for soldiers and regular sweets for children as small treats can bring comfort and a smile during difficult times. We are really excited to come together as a church community to support this cause, and we truly appreciate you for taking you time to listen to us any donations are very much appreciated.’
There is, undeniably, a big demand on the time of young people who are involved in sporting activities on a Sunday. Therefore, we are wondering if a Friday evening would be a better day and time to enable more young people to attend Youth Group.
Please let Revd Tracy know your thoughts.
