Have you every thought about ministering and leading at church? This could look very different for everyone and the ALM training programme run by Blackburn Diocese is designed to nurture and equip people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives who bring a variety of gifts to the body of Christ. There is a core module that everyone on the programme completes that aims to help individuals to develop a personal Rule of Life, and to see how this connects with the regular worship of the local church context. This outworking of discipleship in both the individual and community is vital to a firm foundation for ministry and leadership in the church. Much like the ‘core’ of the physical body needs to be strengthened in order for the whole body to be strong, this core module is designed to strengthen the whole body of Christ as individuals embrace spiritual formation and see how this connects to the worship of the local church. Then there is an elective module chosen according to the individuals interest, gift and skill. These include: Administration, Children’s Ministry, Creation Care, late Life Ministry, Mission Outreach, Pastoral Care, Preaching, Small Group Leadership, Worship Leading, Youth Ministry. If you want to talk with Revd Tracy and begin discerning how God maybe asking you to serve then drop her an email or ring. Finding out more about the ALM training programme does not commit you to being on it! To read more about it visit: www.blackburn.anglican.org/authorised-lay-ministry
