When I asked a little one this week what Advent was all about, I was eagerly supplied with the following answer, “It’s all about waiting. Waiting for Christmas, waiting for Santa, waiting for chocolate, waiting for presents and waiting for a beautiful smelly turkey for dinner.” I ask you the same question – What is Advent all about? I’ll start you off. It’s all about, the coming and the waiting but waiting for what? What as Christians are we waiting for and what will this waiting bring us? I hope that, this year, we can swap the rushing about for a gentler saunter through Advent as we ponder these questions and reflect on our relationship with Jesus.
