Blackburn Diocese is celebrating its Centenary this year and we are going to join in the celebrations in our parish over the weekend of September 12th & 13th September.

On Saturday 12th September we will have a stall at Bretherton Fete for children and families to be creative with a variety of crafts related to the Bible.

It is also Heritage weekend in Croston and we will be welcoming people into church and showcasing the beautiful building, its history and present day worship and events.

Sunday 13th September our parish will gather at St Michael & All Angels Church at 10am for a Pet Blessing Service, where we hope many in our congregations and villages will bring their pets, or their photo along for a special blessing and a pet treat to take home.

Sunday 13th September 4pm we will gather at St Peter’s Church, Mawdesley, for a service of Holy Communion with Songs of Praise….you can suggest your favourite hymn and it might be sung at the service.

At each of our events we will be welcoming people through Jesus’ love; young and old, of faith and none, existing friends and friends to be made, sharing with visitors what is on offer in the parish to become involved in and an invitation to join us for future significant services.

Please keep the weekend free and come and join in.

As always, we need volunteers – people willing to serve in in the mission of God. We need help from each church to work together in the preparation of each event and/or on the day.

Please let us know if you can come along and help in any way you are able. Thank you – Revd Tracy
