In addition to our weekly ‘offering’ taken during the service, over the next two Sundays we will have a retiring collection with plates at the back of each church for any donations you may wish to offer directly to the British Red Cross, as you leave. Information about the charity, it’s work and cause is below:

Venezuela was hit by two of the strongest earthquakes in over a century, measuring 7.5 and 7.2 magnitudes, on 24 June. Reports indicate that thousands of people have died, with tens of thousands injured or missing. These figures are sadly likely to increase in the days and weeks to come. The British Red Cross is a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), which launches appeals during times of monumental suffering, as we are seeing now in Venezuela. People have lost everything with many desperately searching for missing family and loved ones. The Red Cross continues to support the response to the Venezuela earthquakes, helping rescue efforts and planning for long-term humanitarian support including the need for clean water, food and safe shelter.
